Nappy absorbency gave the idea to Urbanscape inventors. Urbanscape mineral fibres have a high water retention capacity: the fibres absorb seven times their weight in water and gradually release it, which results in a decrease in the consumption of water and dissolved nutrients, which also reduces the environmental effects. Urbanscape currently exists in three variants – as a green roof system, as a base under green floor surfaces and as green cubes that are mixed with soil when planting.
