The flute, which was excavated in 1995 in the Divje babe cave in the Idrijca valley and is made from a piece of tubular bone of a young cave bear, is as old as 45,000 years. The bone flute from Divje babe is undoubtedly the oldest flute found in the world, and its discovery moved the beginnings of musical creation back 10,000 years. Until then, the known examples of flutes with several holes were at most 36,000 years old.e
