With the invention of photography on glass in 1842, Janez Puhar earned a diploma from the French "Académie nationale agricole, manufacturiere et commerciale", with which he was recognized for the discovery of photography on glass. He came up with the invention of it because daguerreotype, a photograph on silver-plated copper plates, was too expensive for him. Through research, he replaced copper with glass and adapted chemicals, thus discovering photography on glass
