The book The Problem of Space Travel by Herman Potočnik Noordung, a Slovenian rocket engineer, pioneer of cosmonautics (astronautics), space flight and technologies, is considered one of the fundamental works of the first generation of space researchers. Graduate of mathematics and physics Ronald Šega, an American astronaut of Slovenian origin, flew into space for the first time in 1994 as a Discovery STS-60 flight engineer.
