In the years from 1968 to 1984, Zora Janžekovič, a Slovenian surgeon, primary school teacher and university professor, hosted more than 200 leading surgeons from all over the world at the burn department of the Maribor hospital, who came to learn her extremely successful new method of treating severe burns. The medical magazine Medscape, which is frequently read by doctors from all over the world, has listed her as one of the 25 most influential doctors of the 20th century.
