Milan Vidmar (1885–1962) was an electrical engineer, university professor abroad and at several faculties of the University of Ljubljana, a member of SAZU. He was also a top chess player, grandmaster, chess judge, he won several prestigious tournaments. The Milan Vidmar Electrical Institute, which is part of SAZU, is named after him. In Bled a chess tournament takes place called the Vidmar memorial.
